(Some of my Canadian relatives are fairly hardcore about gun control...I'll have to tell them that we appreciate the "gun control" of the PPCLI!) That's great, maybe Registered can come up with something based on your idea...

The figure of 12K Canadians that served in Vietnam seems to be fairly accurate. A total of approx. 30-40K Canadians served in the US Military during that period, however, only about 12K Canadians were actually "In-country." That is, saw service in Vietnam. 103 Canaidan KIAs are listed on the Canadian Memorial in Windsor. Col. Harry Summers and Mark Woodruff's new book, UNHERALDED VICTORY, have pretty much concluded on the 12K figure. Obviously, had it been much higher, the number of KIA would have been much higher.

I only wish the people to the south of us were equal in their reverence and devotion to the principles of freedom and liberty as those those are to north of us.
"Canada! Oh, Canada!"
This from a died-in-the-wool Texian.

Another angle occurred to me later.
I read on some thread that the member of the PPCLI are called "Patricias".
My thought would be is that any guy who knows how to shot like these fellows
must be sufficiently "secure in their manhood" to be called a "Patricia".
I guess I'm driving at something like hearing a John Wayne drawl of
"That's Patricia to you, mister".
I know plenty of Canadians get sick of the stereotyping, but I suspect they'd
not mind somebody hijacking the "Deer Hunter" and "Beer Hunter" (of the MacKenxie Brothers)
and giving them the slogan of
"Just One Shot, Eh?".

I only wish the people to the south of us were equal in their reverence and devotion to the principles of freedom and liberty as those those are to north of us.But Canada is to my south... (grin... look at a map of Detroit, Michigan and Windsor, Ontario)
I wonder what specifically brings on the rare culture of freedom. As we know, Mexico was conquered by the Spanish and basically exploited. However, America and Canada while conquered by the English and French, they built their homes here.

...sounds like a metric battalion.Okay, so it's 3.785 battalions to the regiment? No, that's litres to the gallon. Darn. 0.454 battalions to the regiment? No, that's kilograms to pounds. 4.448 battaloins? No, that's pounds to Newtons. 745 battalions to the division? No, that's horsepower to Watts. Darn. Curse these infernal conversions!
