At an important bankruptcy hearing in New York today, Global Crossing executives will seek approval from a judge to sell the company to two Asian telecoms, one of which has close ties to the Chinese government. Permission should be denied. Given the slew of unanswered questions about the collapse of Global Crossing, which is being investigated by the FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission, now is not the time to approve a hastily arranged transaction that raises serious national security questions.

Never mind that industry and the manufacturing process is a national security asset. We have to buy our combat boots from China because we have let our shoe industry be destroyed. Has this affected our national security if we go to the mat with Communist China? Why, absolutely not, our troops can learn, as the Indonesians have, the art of making sandals out of the sidewalls of used car tires.
It's time that the American people realize that national security and the well being of our country does not always equal the bottom line. Who wants the Chinese intercepting our military communications? If necessary, the military should buy its own fibre optic line rather than letting it go for some execs obscene profit.
While they got the Chicom connection right, they fail to mention the Singapore K-1 investment of Winnick and board member Stephen Green, an outfit that has direct ties to the asset suitors, and then to the commie gov't.
This double dealing, side bet, by the scumbag Winnick, and clinton's ex-ambassador to Singapore, is surely enough conflict of interest to have the bankruptcy court put aside the previously arranged rape of Global Crossing by these scumbags.
