Sacramento -- A day after last week's primary election, Gov. Gray Davis' administration issued a reminder to state agencies that his image is supposed to appear on every state of California Web site.
Under a policy implemented a year ago, the governor's face is used to link all state Web sites to the governor's page and e-mail address. While the governor's office says the move is one in a series of steps to make a more consumer-friendly Web site, critics say the governor is using the site for campaign purposes.

I'm not sure Gov. Davis having his mug shot everywhere will cause his vote totals to accrete. I suspect they are more likely to erode. Certainly if I were running for office, I would ban my pic from all web sites.

Putting governr grayout's picture on state websites is enhancing government service? gag me. I had occasion to visit the Ca. Department of Food and Agriculture website for some info, and nearly choked when I saw that goofball grinning on the webpage. I didn't find it helpful at all...

Sounds pretty desperate for someone who thinks Simon will be "easy prey."
BTW, here's Gray Davis' campaign site...note "President Bartlett" in the mug shot with Gray...

Also note the goofy Gray Davis animation/cartoons sprinkled throughout the website

That shot with Sheen and Davis is kinda' weird, isn't it? You don't think that Davis believes that Sheen is really ... no, not even California democrats are that dumb.

That's as close as Gray will ever be to "President."
