The Mohawks agreed to depart New York after the American Revolution. They had chosen to support the losing side. However, many didn't. Then, too, many were already married into other Iriquois tribes, and some of them lived like European and African settlers, and simply did not bother to leave.

Many Iriquois were caught up in the great tide of Westward settlement and they may be found everywhere. There are Mohawks among them. On the other hand, St. Regis, which is in Canada, has a lot of Mohawks, and you can find Mohawks throughout Canada.

Iroquois, Comanche, Apache, Blackhawk.

What do all these names have in common, wrong.

They are all names of fighting helicopters.

OK so the Blackhawk and the Iroquois are slicks, but still combat aircraft.
