That's only significant if a large number have tried. Have they? Well see for yourself in the political graveyard. Quite a few tried in the 1900's they never got back in elected office. I'll give you a number on the 1900's in about 30 minutes.

A quick look see from now back to about 1930 shows three former Tn governors who tried to run for elected office after being our governor and they all lost. William Cooper, Frank Clemet, and LAMAR ALEXANDER.
