Your belief that the divine is in all of us is what we call gnosticism. We reject it outright. The message of Jesus is simple -- once He comes into the boat, you're at the other shore. He is the Divine, we do not have it without Him. He gives us the light, the divine spark. All you have to do is believe that He is who he said he was and did what he said he did and will do what he says that he will.

Christians all agree, or should, that there is no salvation without Christ. A religionless Christianity is the ideal. When men get into reading the Word, they become like lawyers and their ego gets in the way. The rest of us can't help that.

By "the rest of us" you must mean women. Men reading the Word are filled with ego but the rest (women) can understand what the Bible says? Being a woman, maybe you can clear up some of my questions that noone even addresses. I am not privy to the mysteries of understanding the Bible because I'm not Christian, nor a woman. Look back through my posts on this thread and answer as many of my questions as you care. Kinda like "preaching the gospel to every living creature" Many others here (mostly men I'm sure) seem to have a bit of trouble understanding also, your answers would help them to, I'm sure
