Far as I am concerned, he mismanaged the China investigation (consistantly ceding ground to John Glenn) and was a disappointment during impeachment. Originally had high hopes for him.

My kids and I got into a Senate building subway car and sat across from Sen. Thompson and Sen. Heflin for the brief ride over to the Capitol Building years ago.
After the introductions, Heflin asked my son (8 years old) how much money he had in his wallet that was chained to this belt loop. My son pulled the wallet out and started counting, Thompson interrupted him and said "Son, let this be a lesson to you, never open your wallet in front of a politician". I got a good laugh out of that.

No chance-they declared him dirty from female troubles-he had too many females, not troublesome females.
