IDF Raids Continue; 300 Terrorists Surrounded

The IDF responded aggressively by attacking Palestinian targets throughout Gaza, Judea, and Samaria. Armored forces, covered by combat helicopters, entered the outskirts of Bethlehem from several directions and took over the neighborhoods originally founded for refugees that have since become terrorist strongholds.

IDF troops entered Beit Jala, from where fire is often directed at homes in Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood, and tanks approached the town as well. Among the some two-dozen Arabs reported killed in the various offensives was one terrorist eliminated in a helicopter-missile strike.

In Khan Yunis, Gaza, IDF forces killed about ten of Muhammad Dahlan's forces, including Gen. Ahmed Mafrej, commander of the central Gaza district and the most senior Palestinian killed since the Oslo War began. The IDF said his death was unintentional; he was not actively engaged in the fighting at the time. Arab sources said that Israeli naval ships launched several rockets at Gaza.

In Tul Karem in western Shomron, IDF forces continue to surround some 300 armed terrorists of Tanzim, Force 17, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad. Fire was exchanged there during the night; a Border Guard policeman and a soldier were each lightly wounded. Nine Arabs were killed there yesterday, and dozens were wounded. IDF sources said the army would not leave the area until all the terrorists were arrested. PLO sources said that the terrorists had planted mines in the camp, and that men wearing explosives packs were awaiting the IDF soldiers. PA diplomatic sources have begun an international campaign to pressure Israel not to enter the camp.

bump kill them dead.

Do not be swayed by a PR/Diplomatic (propaganda campaign) which will only lead to more dead Israeli women and children.

I suspect 300 terrorists is a significant fraction of the remaining total.

Last night I saw an MSNBC interview with some bunch of palestinian terrorists, billed as the first ever. There were like 4 terrorists on camera, and the NBC guy said they'd had about 5 other bodyguards surrounding the place. Didn't seem like a big operation to me. They were all wrapped up, but they seemed like kids, clearly dedicated to their cause, but kids nonetheless. I wouldn't be surprised if, should Israel hold tough, the Palestinians were to run out of terrorists willing to suicide pretty soon now. The current rush of terrorism could be the last hurrah. Maybe I'm an optimist, but equally success might be around the corner.

Kill them all. Then kill those who support them. Then kill those who celebrate their actions. Then kill those who try and justify their actions.

I saw the same PMSNBC interview with PA terrorists, and came away with an even deeper belief that Israel must continue to eliminate their kind from the face of the earth.

Having said that, somehow the western world and the more 'moderate' Arab states MUST do something to educate future generations and put an end to the 'Hate Jews" and 'Hate America' crowd. The current generation(s) is a hopeless cause, but over the course of time something has to be done to eliminate the hate.

the most senior Palestinian killed since the Oslo War began

This is the first time I've heard that phrase used. Is it new, or have I just missed it before?

A war started by Clinton. Nothing new. Over in Yugoslavia he created another war by bombing Orthodox Christian Serbs.

40 killed near Tulkarem, dozens killed near Bethlehem, Arafat, you've got yourself the bloody mess you were itching for, you scummy vampire. Surrender you slime ball. You stand no chance to get more than was already offered, unless what you wanted was a lot of blood spilled.

With the glamarization of the suicide killers, there's always going to be more disposable Pal suckers willing to die so Arafat can visit his bank accounts overseas.

What makes you say that?

Seems to me, they are down to women and kids, and starting to talk up how its more rewarding to snipe than blow yourself up. I think even uneducated Palestinians have a limited supply of people willing to suicide, and could be they are about to run out if Israel just holds tough another few weeks or months.

Does anybody know if the Japanese in WW2 had a virtually unlimited supply of kamikaze bombers, more limited by planes and opportunity and training, or were they anywhere near running out of people willing to suicide?

My opinion,if anyone wants it,is for the IDF to pull back from the camp and call in coordinates.
