You might think a CBS special called "9/11," offering the public a first look at on-site video footage of the attacks on the World Trade Center, would be prized as a chance to better grasp the full realities of that day--and perhaps even remind ourselves of the enormity of the terrorist threat we still face.

Out of sight, out of mind.
Sorry, but I want to see the carnage. I want to see the horror. I don't ever want this feeling to go away until every member of every terrorist organization in the world is dead, dead, dead.

I would rather see this Naudet film rather than the Hollywood
version with it's special effects and accompanying love story.

These are the same people who don't want us to defend ourselves. These are the same people who think "we deserved it". These are the people who want to figure out why the terrorists hate us so much.
If they don't want to see it, turn the darn TV off. I WANT to remember. I WANT to know what those men went through. I WANT the American people to realize what we're fighting for.

She's wrong. CBS hasn't edited out "the good stuff;" there ISN'T ANY. The filmmakers said they
didn't film any of the graphic stuff, because they thought it would be wrong.
Needless to say, the filmmakers are French.

Needless to say, the filmmakers are French. They are comparitively young. They lived and grew up their entire lives in Manhattan.

BTW, there is an excellent article about the two young men and this film in this month's Vanity Fair. They did an earlier film about boxing (American) and made rare arrangements with the NY Fire Department about one year before September 11th to film about a rookie fireman.
And, yeah, let us see the unadulterated film!

There is a soothing musical soundtrack. How appropriate! To assist in the "healing process", of course. It will help bring about "closure" for the families. It will also serve many other purposes that can only be described by using many other meaningless psycobabble words. What a great idea. /sarcasm
Actually, as long as we see the footage, I don't care.

I've already got my new video tape ready to roll.
