Boy, people are desperate for a Muslim to do something bad in the US, aren't they? It's always fascinating how thread after thread about some crime or disaster dies after it turns out an Arab/Muslim wasn't responsible for something; people lose interest and move on; it's only interesting if it's possibly an Arab and/or Muslim responsible.

I could point out there are probably thousands of dumbass drunk white trash with mullets and criminal records within driving distance of Ft. Bragg, too, probably more of them than Muslims, were I too apply the baseless speculation standards of the original poster.

I was wondering about this sort of thing. Just having your name mentioned on the news as being involved in the "war on terror" will put you on a list of targets to assassinate.

Assassinations are so much easier to than a massive terrorist attack, because there are so damn many targets to protect! If the terrorists can't kill Bush, they'll kill a dozen governors. If they can't have the governors, they'll kill off city councilmen. How can we stop that? If they want to take everyone who appears on the news, and put their names on a list, how could we stop that? Only by no longer reporting a lot of details...

Then again, this might not have anything to do with the "war on terror," it could just be an isolated incident...

Living on a large military base, we've had a few murders and apparent suicides before 9-11, and a few since. I wouldn't think "Muslim" right off the bat without more to go on, could it have very well been a stalking by a X?, or murder for Insurance? (Military spouses are covered now as well) to an business deal gone wrong with an acquaintance?

Smell fishy to me too, but branding it on a Muslim seems alittle premature, and considering what is not known to the public, I would say it's hard to speculate anything solid right now about any possible motive unless you were part of the investigation.

I hope that it's not true, and that it won't turn into something else for "us" military folks to worry about. They have no idea what they are in for if so.

If I'm not mistaken the military doesn't give out the names of people fighting over there, or allow photos showing the faces of special Forces soldiers. So yes it probably is a coincidence.

There's an extremely large element around here that has basically turned into Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.

Let's face it; both of those guys go to sleep at night fervently hoping they'll wake up to a black church torched by the KKK, or a black girl supposedly "gang raped" by a bunch of white guys.

A lot of this board is fervently hoping (a lot of them subconsciously) for an Arab or Muslim to go on a shooting spree in home for crippled children or something in the US, to further their agendas.
