he would be free to ask you to leave so that other patrons could enjoy a whine-free dining-out experience. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have actually encountered anti-smokers sitting in the smoking section and whining about the smoke - this after they indicated no proeference for their seating location.

Maybe you should contact the government. You see they have been spraying chemicals over our cities for a number of years. In fact after the spraying has occured hospitals have filled with people having so called asthema attacks, shortness of breath and becoming seriously ill. Just a thought.

Out of respect for myself, and to express my disgust with their attitude, I usually put it out in their drink, and proceed to light another one. (got a round of applause once for that)My hero.

For once they have a gang behind them!

You be funny!!!!!!
Unlike Ann Landers and Dear Abby - Miss Manners has much more tolerance for smokers.

I'm seriously wondering why some of these people are posting on FR - what about you????I'm seriously wondering if when some of these folks are fitted for their chains, they'll say please and thank you to those doing the fitting.

You know, his point is so good, and then he has to ruin it with his hysterical (and offensive) nonsense about "Nazis."

When it happened to me that time, the restaurant ate the drinks we had waiting to order and for the meal we ordered.
We had been sitting in the bar waiting for a table in the smoking section. Another couple was also sitting in the bar waiting for the "next available" table. The bar is small and it was packed, and nearly everyone was smoking.
The other couple was seated before us, and when we were seated they were at the next table. When the waitress brought our drinks she asked us to extinquish our cigarettes as they were bothering the people at the next table. Normally I would have complied, except that we had waited for a table for over an hour and this couple had been sitting next to us in the bar without complaint. I politely declined and we proceeded to order our dinner.
A little while later the waitress came and made the same request and she received the same polite answer explaining that we were sitting in the smoking section.
Shortly thereafter the manager came over with the same request, we again declined. We were then presented with a bill and asked to leave.
Long story short. The cop laughed at the manager and told us to be on our way. I refused to pay the bill.
I have no problem with non-smokers and will bend over backwards to not bother them with my smoking. But anti-smokers are an entirely different breed.

Good for you! I do sincerely hope you never visited that restaurant again. Nope - never set foot in the place again.
I live on the coast, surrounded by fishing villages, I don't need to go to one of the naional chains that don't buy American to get real fish and seafood!!!! we only went that time because of a particular special that was being run.
I actually get phone calls from the local waterman when certain things are running. Talk about right off the boat!!!!
It's been enjoyable talking with you. I'm going to go back to the FReepathon thread and then call it a night.
I'll check back in the morning and see if any of "them" decided to answer anything posed to them!!!!

What can I say, I'm a contributer to the non-existent threat of global warming.

I don't know that smokers are a minority, but if they are most non-smokers do not have a problem with us smokers unless we smoke in a non-smoking area or if we're simply being asses with our habit. Even though I smoke cigars, it's only 1 or 2 times a week and I never smoke in any building so as far as I'm concerned they shouldn't have a beef with me. But even so if I'm smoking in a smoking area it's none of their damn business.

They tried it in Montgomery County, Maryland.Maryland is one strange state. If it could, the Maryland government, I believe, would try to outlaw exhaling, for fear of cluttering the atmosphere with CO2.

If you're happy and you know it clank your chains...LOL Exactly, my friend.

What can I say, I'm a contributer to the non-existent threat of global warming.I too must admit that I have, on occasion, gone outdoors and pointed a spray can skyward, and laughing fiendishly while I empty its contents.
To: Gabz
As far as I know, it's all voluntary. I never could see the sense of having smoke free and smoking in the same small room...
