The problem with your argument is the use of "they." Surely almost all of these people are very very dangerous ones, but some of them may not be. Some may have spared their lives by giving up intell. To say lets just wipe 'um all out and be done with it imho is an overreach.
If they weren't dangerous, they wouldn't have been trying to kill Americans in the first place.
Their subsequent behavior at Gitmo has proven they are indeed dangerous.
Additionally, they are not giving up information to the Americans under threat of their lives. The Americans down there are not threatening their lives; rather, they are giving the terrorists/prisioners food and medical treatment, at American Taxpayer expense, that they have probably never received in their lives.
Sorry fella, but your heartfelt defense of the murdering bastard terrorists at Gitmo falls on deaf ears with me, and I suspect most people on FR.

You are wrong. I never defeneded any of the murdering terrorists. Those should get the ultimate punishment. I'll make the not so subtle point again that sending all 300 to the firing squad today might be over the top. I'd bet any American soldier who shot even one of them today would get a court martial.
