Good point. Has anyone commented on the decision by the press to treat the tradgic deaths of nine servicemen in combat as a huge defeat for USA and victory for al Queda??

On the editorial page of The Wall Street Journal, Ralph Peters says, "In War, Soldiers Die". It doesn't seem to be posted, if the search engine is right . . .

"The press" (I object to that designation of journalism, which is not all of "the press"--and broadcast journalism is not "the press"), as you put it, is just doing what it always does to maximize its audience/readership. No matter how superficial an attitude that requires,

journalism always puts
the most negative possible spin
on its reportage.
