I thought about that after I posted it. Last I heard the Pro Tem was StromThurmond, but then the leadership switched to the Dem's. Who's the pro tem and did he go to the bunker? And if he didn't, why did Daschle?

That would be the most senior senator from the majority party. He probably couldn't find his way there because he's a bumbling senile.

To everybody who thinks a "Shadow Gov't" is a new idea started on 9/11: How could you be so gullable as to think they have not had this plan in effect for many, many years?

The pro tem I believe is Byrd and makes him third in line behing the speaker of the house and fourth would be Powell as sec state. Don't know if any of them were there!
