We all know the importance of keeping at least a limited backup in the event of catastrophe. People are acting like they cloned all three branches and have them underground signing treasury checks.

If Washington is destroyed I darn sure expect some kind of backup system to keep the basics functioning. At least now the "evil doers" know if they think they can cut the head of the US snake off they are wrong.

No kidding. Its called a "contingency plan" or "disaster recovery" in the business world and its irresponsible NOT to have them in place.

There are a number of Washington bureaucracies who detail their employees to the Shadow Government facilities on a part time basis. One, which sends employees there for a week's time, tries to chose single men and women so as not to disrupt home lives. If there was ANYONE in Washington ignorant of the government back-up venues I would be amazed. Certainly, the Soviets knew where they were.
