I feel somewhat bad for cnn that this is what they are resulting to. It is quite sad.

Laughable.
(CNN must be following the same Liberal playbook that thought it was a good idea to blame a drop in the Yen on statements which Bush made. Utterly pathetic.)

I also heard that letterman might replace nightline. I am feeling for nbc. It seems as though all news departments are bleeding money except for fox that is

AFTER suffering another ratings plunge, CNN is desperately - and ridiculously - trying to blame a drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average on the rival Fox News Channel.
On Wednesday, Fox reported exclusively that Special Operations units were on the ground in Iraq. A "crawl" below the screen reported the story and anchor John Scott talked about it. Unfortunately, Scott made a minor mistake when he initially said "Special Forces" were on the ground. (Special Operations are affiliated with the CIA, while Special Forces are under the command of the Pentagon.) But Scott immediately corrected his verbal error.
Several minutes before Scott's slip-up, a report was released that stated consumer confidence was slipping - causing the DJIA to plunge. By the end of the day, it had dropped 140 points. But CNN's "Moneyline" show reported that the Dow had slipped on the Iraq news. And on Thursday morning - the day FNC posted higher ratings than CNN for the second month in a row - CNN anchors started crowing about the Fox "error," which they mistakenly claimed had sent the stock market reeling.
Jack Cafferty, Paula Zahn's co-host on CNN's morning show, quipped: "I understand [Fox] may change the slogan from fair and balanced' to fair and balanced but not necessarily very accurate.' " Later, Lou Dobbs warned: "It's always very important to get your news from the right sources." Even CNN's ad-sales department got into the act, with a memo to advertisers citing FNC's "false" report. "Tuesday morning's 150 point loss on the Dow is an example [of false reporting]," the memo stated. "It illustrates the lack of credible news gathering resources on the part of Fox News."
Fox News Channel executives were unconcerned abut CNN's attempt to discredit them. "This is just another pathetic attempt by CNN to try and cover up their flailing ratings," a rep said. Meanwhile, as CNN was decrying Fox on Thursday morning, the anchors of "Fox & Friends," E.D. Donahey and Steve Doocy, took turns gleefully announcing their higher ratings and taking some playful shots at their CNN counterparts.
When Donahey noted "Fox & Friends" had a 30 percent higher rating than Zahn's CNN show in the same time slot, Doocy quipped: "Wow! That's harsh . . . You figure when you hire The Mole' [a mysterious nickname for Zahn], you ended up with ratings gold, but obviously that doesn't happen." Later, Doocy compared CNN's Aaron Brown to his dentist.

"I understand [Fox] may change the slogan from fair and balanced' to fair and balanced but not necessarily very accurate.' " Later, Lou Dobbs warned: "It's always very important to get your news from the right sources." Oh that's rich, coming from the network that reported several weeks ago that Daniel Pearl had been killed when he was actually still alive.

If you were paying attention you would see that this article was already posted. I do however agree that cnn is too liberal and at first i questioned greta but she brings interesting perspective to fox. As far as nbc though, what of them haha. Fox is definately worth watching especially e.d.

for real i for one thank all dentists god knows this would be an uglier planet without them.

Pay no attention to chillinvillain (reply # 11). You can do a topic search to see if an article has been previously posted--this saves bandwidth and reduces clutter, yadda yadda, but searches are NOT always accurate.
I, for one, had not seen this article until you posted it. Keep 'em coming and welcome aboard!

I agree Ive never understood the mentality of the searchite police. I guess their reasoning goes as follows 1) everybody spends 24 hours a day on FR so of course they should have seen the article OR 2) Although the search engine seems to fail to find the article in question it nonetheless is the posters fault. From a readers standpoint I cant ever recall thinking to myself, Lets see perhaps somebody posted an article Ive never read or even heard of so Ill search for said article, anyway. Ive NEVER been annoyed by multiple posting, but reading the search police posts reminds me of the DU forum posters (that is not a compliment).

Welcome.
BTW, the criticism (already posted) comes from the fluctuating ranks of the "post police". Don't worry about it.
It would be good, however to take note for future reference. IMO, this looks like the McAuliffe-ization of the media wars. Clinton's hacks were the best at fighting political battles using guerrilla tactics. Everything is fair game, every statement and move is to be contested.
Naturally, we should expect them to lash out. FOX has kicked their asses without question. And by doing what they say....balancing the news.
