If people don't believe that some pipe smoking isn't going to happen in that place, they're crazy.

What's so special about this place? SF has zillions of these - they call them bathhouses.
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
the center is the gayest place in the gayest place in America
Not if gay still meant "happy!"
To: 3catsanadog
I guess this is different because they even dropped the 'bathing' charade.
It's nice to live in a country where bath houses are places where people actually go to clean themselves, rather than to get laid.

I am SORRY....I am "GAY",......these people are homosexuals and I'm tired of them bastardizing our language.

i believe this was my old elementary school (douglas) on 19th & diamond streets, a few blocks from castro street.
you should see the fruits that hang out by this place to get picked up after the bars close.
that's why i call it 'san sicko' now!

Homosexuality is a disease.
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Harvey Milk envisioned a place where gays and lesbians could meet to talk about politics, social issues or simply about what it meant to live as homosexuals Yes - its called Hell.
And if they don't repent - they get to spend a lot of time there.

the center is the gayest place in the gayest place in America Substitute a valid label the gay community uses, we have: the center is the queerest place in the queerest place in America." This would seem to make sense.

What's so special about this place? SF has zillions of these - they call them bathhouses....or fudge factories.

Here are a couple of things that this article didn't tell you: The Center was named after its largest individual benefactor, Charles M. Holmes, founder of the leading gay porn video company, and was built partially on the former grounds of the 1808 Club, a nondescript sex club that either opened or continued to operate despite the soaring AIDS rate.
More on "The Center" later. You won't believe it.

EXACTLY!
I thought the whole city was one gay center and had been for years! Isn't this just the "silliest" type of overkill???

That brings up a memory. When I was in highschool we had a spot known as "queer circle". Being what we were back then it was part of our the curriculum to visit occasionally.
