USO Canteen Freeper Style

War has come to our shores. It was committed on American soil.  We have been able to live in Freedom only because of those who have fought in the past wars giving life, limb and all the sacrifices for us to live in Freedom and go about our day without fear.

On September 11, 2001, that comfort, that feeling of living in a land that would not be attacked ended.

William T. Sherman said it succinctly, "War is hell."

The day has come for this Nation and its people to understand that there is a risk in losing its freedom, and in reality there always has been. We have ONLY stayed free because of the sacrifices of our military, our warriors.

This is about saving the future of America. Aristotle said, "We make war that we may live in peace."

We are seeing the American Flag flying at homes now more than ever in my lifetime. We are seeing the American Flag flying on vehicles and people wearing Flag pins and small Flags on their clothes. America is united in the cause for Freedom and for our country to WIN against the evil that came upon our land to kill and hurt us. To change our way of life and to destroy America which is US, you and me. To take away our precious Freedom.

This is the Freeper version of the USO Canteen. Where soldiers could come and feel a small part of being at home. It is a place where you that have family in the military can post a thought to a loved one that might be able to read it far away from home. A place where we that support our military can help support them, post to them, fun graphics showing the price in America and our troops. Poems, quotes, cartoons, or articles of how America is behind our troops.

Those in our military are our Nation's warriors. Let us join hands, fly our Flag and let the world know how important our warriors are to us....And that our MILITARY, our Warriors, are America's TRUE HEROS!

"No Marine was ever honored for what they received. Honor was the reward for what they gave." (Anonymous) CHIEF gave his all in many ways. He touched our lives and his friendship meant so much to all of us. He will live in our hearts forever, and his friendship will always be a bright and shining memory in our hearts and souls.

giggle.. Hi there. My problem is I try to live on two time zone. West coast and east coast. hahaha I love early mornings and very late at night. One day I will figure out how to do both successfuly. hahaha

I know what you mean about the stock market. I grew up in the midwest and I remember my father talking about the stock market and the advantage back then of the different time as an advantage. <p< Good to see you Bogie.

Good morning IG. Please thank your cousin for me and from all of us.

It must be beautiful there with the snow drifts. I remember how I always went out after a big snow and taking pictures of some of the places around the property. Something so quiet and peaceful in the way things looked after the snow storm.

Good to see you IG . Have a great day.

How is Mr. FallGuy these days? I fear I have not welcomed him home properly so here are some very special treats for him. He will have to spend some extra time at the Gym if he eats all of these though!!

Left to right, Belgium chocolate- dipped cherries, oranges and strawberries....

Whoever started to help me fix these but she tasted so many she ran screaming from the kitchen saying, "Exercise, exercise I must have exercise." Fortunately Beamer heard her plea and took her for a long walk.

HI Mae, you are so right. The " Can Do" attitude is so important, especially in those times when it is so very hard. I am so proud of your troops, our veterans, our military.

It is always so good to see you Mae. FallGuy and I are going out for Sunday brunch in a few mintues.
Have a fantastic day my friend.

Just a little more about my dad. First off, he doesn't know a stranger - and if you ever run out of something to talk about just ask him about his Navy days. He will talk for hours about the ship he was on and his buddies. (BIG SMILE)

I wished I could have the Honor to talk to you Dad, that would truly be humbling....

My Dad is a 20+ year Vet too of the Air Force, then Navy, strange combination, huh, LOL! I love his stories of being on the Battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62) off Beirut in the early 80's.

Those 18 inch guns were AWESOME!!!

6 MISTAKES

"Miss Johnson, I was just going over this letter you wrote. Your typing is definitely improving. I see that there are only six mistakes here."

"Why, thank you, sir. I do feel as though I am getting better at this part of my job."

"Now then, let's take a look at the second line."
