This is so silly. I've been to the UK for work a couple times now, plus have traveled to France and Italy a few times. The more I see of Europe, the less stock I put in anything they say or think.

Europeans are just envious of us. The old continent has never been more irrelevent.
To: JohnHuang2
But who even cares? I am sooooo unimpressed with the average Euros I've met so far. Sohisticated? Pffft.
To: technochick99
Sophisticated? Words like sophisticated and European don't belong in the same sentence, except to illustrate an oxymoron.

"Left of center" Guardian; "Right of center" Times (really?)...you notice that ABC has no problem pointing out the biases (at least the ones they perceive) in foreign papers...but they certainly don't have one themselves, now do they?

Hey,John? Refresh my memory, am I supposed to care what the French or the Belgians think? /sarcasm off.Personally,I think thay all can piss up a rope. The only ones we can count on are our cousins the British and surprisingly, the Italians.

Who, besides the media, gives a flip about how well we are preceived by the rest of the world. Everytime they get their shorts in a twist, they blame us, everytime they need help, they ask us. Everytime they have a natural disaster, who is the first to lend a hand....not one of these geesers who don't like us.

"One of the most harmful aspects of American society is its Calvinist notion of vengeance
the primitive 'eye for an eye' of frontier law, the moral intolerance." ........said the European.

Your welcome Coteblanche, I lived there, and every time one of them would tell me how we did something to "hurt their economy or whatever" I'd remind them, if it hadn't been for us they would ALL be speaking Russian. I knew in those days it would take about 5 hours to get from the western edge of eastern Europe to Pareeeeew, and as we have experienced in WWII the Parasians welcomed their conquerors with open arms and everything else.
Say, where in Canuck land do you live, I used to live just north(?) of you on the American side.

A reason for invading France?
How about the fact that it would just be rippin good fun.
As Conan the Barbarian, (not the late night talk show guy) said when asked what the meaning of life is--
"To go into battle against your enemies, to drive them before you, and to listen to the lamentation of their women".
