We're going to try to make amends for the NBC's decision to cut from the live fireworks. Click on the video links below for the show from cameras placed all along the Wasatch Front.
Salt Lake and the world said good-by to the 2002 Winter Games Sunday...
And it was a spectacular send-off.
But an unexpected decision by NBC angered hundreds... maybe thousands of KSL viewers.
NBC dumped out of its coverage of Closing Ceremonies before the incredible fireworks show.
That meant Salt Lake didn't get to see live coverage of the largest pyrotechnical display to ever be attempted in Utah.
Today we're going to try to make amends for the network's decision.

The link to watch the fireworks is here. Olympics fireworks. Only the link is really really slow. You may want to try it tomorrow.
And my sister and her boyfriend came over to visit for a few minutes this evening. I asked him how they enjoyed the closing ceremonies, he said they had so much fun, "except for the d**n beach balls bouncing off my head." LOL!

CBC didn't cut away, and if there is a huge amount of interest I might be talked into digitizing a video of it that would be downloadable if somebody else is willing to host it online.
The good news is that the footage exists even though they cut away. Perhaps they did that on purpose so they can put out a DVD with the 'bonus' of not having the fireworks cut out of it.
