Tell us something about this guy. Is he any good?

He is a major league RINO, but at least he is from outside politics, and is a proven executive.

The current incompetent and unpopular RINO governor is dead meat, without question. Unless Romney runs, the next governmor of Massachusetts will be Robert Reich, or one of the more devious local political democratic hacks.

This being Massachusetts, Romney is definitely preferable to anyone else running.

As a Republican delegate, I am supporting Jim Rappaport for Lt. Gov. He and Mitt Romney will make a great team. I do believe Mitt will run and I am sure he will be elected at the convention -- I feel it in my bones. I worked at Mitt's main campaign office when he ran against Fat Teddy. He and his family are great! Best of all he is an honest man!

Guy is a poster boy for what is wrong with the GOP

Back when he ran against Kennedy he had a HUGE lead in the early polls

Giddy with these numbers this boob comes out and says "he doesn't want the support of the radicals from the Christian Right and the NRA"

Last time I checked Kennedy was still in the senate

I was talking to a friend of Cards, from what I was told, he is not a number two man.

Maceman is right on the money about the RINO factor. All of the people that I do politics with in Northeast amd Southeast, Mass are voting for Carla, I can't guess what the feeling is in Mace's area.

The politics of Mass is as it has always has been, Met Boston, against everyone else.

When the Kennedy's are losing they send out the thugs -- trust me that is exactly what happen in the last two weeks of the campaign. It was scary! I was there.

Mitt Romney may not be as conservative as we are, but I would never call him a RINO.

You are probabbly right, I think of his father rather than his Uncles. I have been an attack dog for so long that I might get confused, maybe. I am related to the Romneys (Marion) through marrage, I hope he turns out better than his cousin did.

I worked on that campaign too and had a hard time accepting what a great guy he was....almost too good to be true.

He and Rappaport have my vote at the convention.

Goodbye Bride of Chucky!

Do you even read my posts? I won't vote for Swift or Mitt. The GOP in Mass is a chimera. It is false. It is nothing more than an adjunct to the Democratic Party. The Mass GOP lets us appear that we are not a one party state to the rest of the nation. That is all. The Mass GOP is a Joke! I stopped being active in it ten years ago when the WELD traitors took over. The GOP in Mass is more liberal than most Democrats! I will vote for Robert Reich (God Help Me) because at least he resigned as Labor Secretary under Clinton in the first term. He is a man of integrity even though a leftist. I would rather have an honest Leftist as governor than a RHINO hack who is owned by Democrat power brokers. There is no Mass GOP.

Than what was all the nonsense you told me about Mass being as conservative as Alabama?

Are you kidding me? What state has more out of wedlock births? What state has a higher divorce rate? What state has road houses and whore houses all over? I know it is hard for you to understand - but Massachusetts has been perpetuating a scandal on the rest of the nation. the Freaks who inhabit our colleges and control our media made a deal with the local pols- elect liberals to national office and locals can be conservative. And that is how it has been. The governorship in this state is worthless- it has no power. Swift can't do a thing without the Senate President- that is Finerann- and before him- Bulger. Both good conservative Catholic Irish pols who oppose abortion. it is legal in this state like all states- but try to get one here! There are few and far between clinics as the state gov harasses them with "health code" visits. You don't get it. I won't waste my time.

From Myers's lips to God's ears!! I would LOVE for Mitt to run against Jane Swift. From what I remember of his run against Kennedy, he's not as conservative as I might wish, but he's conservative enough!

Isn't he George Romney's son? Gov. Romney did a lot of good for Michigan back in the 60s and might have been a good president, if he hadn't shot himself in the foot with his "brainwashed" remark.

As far as Jane "Swift Injustice" (the WSJ got the title wrong IMHO), the sooner y'all get rid of her, the better.

He gave Kennedy the run of his life in 94 and barely came up short.

OK- I will put it this way- everyone I talk too who has voted for a kennedy or a Barney Frank does so knowing that they bring home the pork and doesn't care what they do on the national level.! The biggest project in the nation is the "BIG DIG" and it employs 30,000 local workers and hundreds of thousands of contractors (hell - my company earns 40 grand a month on the project and we just rent computers to the big dig). Talk to people from Mass. They are more redneck than rednecks! In fact they are called "wombats" up here- a term for a Northern Redneck.

Remember busing? That was Boston. We do a good job of hiding how conservative we are but we do it. And it is a nasty ethnic deal - not spoken about of course- but well known and written about in such conservative Journals as National Review.

I am amazed when I see a Mass Congressman propose legislation on social issues on the federal level that would never see the light of day on the local level.

"I believe no liquor stores in Connecticut are open on Sundays either. But it's funny how Northerners call the South backwards for having the same policy."

In the South, we don't need the liquor stores to be open.
A gallon of Feets' Own Alabama Thunderbolt may be purchased 24/7.

(may be available under a different name in your locality)

RINO is accurate.

The new huge Mormon Church on the hill is complete in Boston so he can run now. (Got enough zoning exemptions to make any pol envious)

I have family from Massachusetts. I've also seen the big dig in progress. It's pretty incredible. So, you're basically saying that your national reps get in the same way Dasshole does? 'Cause they bring home the bacon. Sounds reasonable enough. I've always thought northern rednecks were called "woodchucks", at least that's what they're called in VT.

uncbob, looks like there are people who don't remember things as you do, are history revisionists or just have the "can't we just all get along" attitude.

A couple of months ago when I was dumping on Swift, I mentioned that the only person who could stop the Democrats from taking over the Massachusetts State House this year was Mitt Romney. At the time, it seemed unthinkable that Romney would be even interested in jumping into the race. It is great to hear that it is now a distinct possibility.

Jane Swift is one of the biggest disappointments and embarrassments in the history of Republican politics. And I don't say that lightly. She is probably the most unqualified and unworthy Republican to ever hold such high office. I was all set to vote for Libertarian Carla Howell. But if Mitt jumps into the race, I'm aboard!
