They actually BELIEVE this????????? I knew this was a bunch of bozo's, but man.....this is unbelievable.Yes. Last fall either PETA or another animal rights group came up with a campaign blaming car-deer crashes on the fact that hunters, in the woods, were chasing the deer out and onto roads.
You may laugh, but I could see this approach used on a state level to either restrict hunting, lower conservation budgets, or raise fees to pay for the damage. Plenty of people would believe it.

PeTA Activists Hit Deer While Driving, Sue New Jersey Fish And Wildlife DivisionLOL......classic, simply classic. Of course if it had been someone say, who was a hunter who hit a deer, they'd be suing the hunter.
People like this really slay me; they can never be wrong! LOL

I notice in the letter that there is no method given by which we, in NJ are purposely increasing the deer pop. Just exactly how does on go about that?

resulting in a repair bill that exceeded $6,000.00A repair bill for a Honda CIVIC that exceeded $6,000? LOL Unless the thing was BRAND new (something I seriously doubt for this bunch of granola chewing idiots), there's no WAY a Honda Civic could have $6,000 worth of damage and not be totaled!
Well I guess hypocricy and dishonesty DO go hand in hand! LOL

What I'd like to know is how they drew the inference that the presence of a deer on a New Jersey road is evidence that the state was mismanaging the size of the herd. Do well-managed herds never enter roadways?

Excellent! Reminds me of the lady who moved up to Idaho and wanted the "Deer Crossing" sign moved down the highway, because she didn't like the deer crossing near her house.
