[history]
Doris Kearns Goodwin, the prolific historian who recently acknowledged appropriating a few passages from another author's work for a book she wrote in 1987, told her publisher last week that the same book contained scores of quotations and paraphrases taken without attribution from other writers.

Joe Kennedy comes off as almost a hero. Except to mad warmongers writing from the safety of posterity that is.
OK, we've got your opinion now can you quote some other sources other than any Kennedy clan?

I heard Ambrose say precisely that, that he was not going to write any more books on WWII, something like two years ago on C-SPAN. I guess the offers were too generous for him to pass up.

OK. Slam me as you see fit. I don't claim to have an exclusive on the market of stupidity.
Please answer my question. Are you suggesting that in historical methodology that "revisionism" is a "hard science" so to speak and is not instead an attempt by the culture of the day to rewrite history? The usage you suggest is one that I would argue IS NOT common today and may well be a term used differently by historians. But you are not suggesting that but seek to attack me instead.

If you don't mind, One Old Pro, I'd like a shot at paraphrasing your statement:
Yes, liberal "historians" write "their" interpretations of history Revision. It's called revisionism History.
Look better?

Joseph Kennedy, Sr.
JFK's father. An Irish Catholic from Boston, he made a fortune investing in the stock market and was appointed Ambassador to Great Britain, where he supported the British policy of appeasing Hitler in the years preceding World War II.http://www.sparknotes.com/biography/jfk/terms/char_10.html

Nice set of quotes on old Joe. Kudos.

Dear Bold Fenian,
Being snide and nasty, while demanding extensive research, does not induce a strong desire to continue a dialogue.
While it is always nice to see someone defending a Kennedy here (how often does that happen?) I have no burning desire to correspond with someone equipped with time and a contemptuous, dismissive attitude.

The Kennedys were and are a corrupt family, living off of old Joe's criminal activities and the ensuing activities of his son Jack, who tried to bed every women he met, 'little' Teddie who crawled around under tables in bars playing "grab-ass" with the female help and his Olympic swimming event where he managed to abandon his mistress and let her die.
What a family! What national roll models. What scumbags are the Kennedys and all of their progeny.
