FBI investigating ‘mass destruction’ inquiry

By Rick Russell Senior Reporter February 21, 2002

Federal and local authorities are investigating a man who approached a University of Memphis professor last week seeking information about weapons of mass destruction. The professor, who wished to remain anonymous, said a man of Middle Eastern descent approached him while he was in his office Feb. 13 and asked for a “crash course in the physics that deals with mass destruction.”

In return, the man told the professor he would pay him money for the requested information.

“He told me that money was no object, and that he had plenty of it,” said the professor.

The professor said the bizarre nature of the man’s inquiry and inconsistencies the man gave about his background prompted him to notify Federal authorities while the man sat in his office.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation then informed U of M police, who found the man still sitting in the office when they made the scene.

Bruce Harber, director of public safety at The U of M, said the man was compliant during questioning and supplied officers with a Tennessee driver’s license and a work visa.

However, Harber said the man gave conflicting statements about background information and how he got to the U of M campus.

Police then contacted Immigration Naturalization Service to confirm his background.

INS verified that the information was valid and released the man.

Authorities would only identify the man as a Somalian citizen carrying a visa issued from Nigeria who is currently living in Memphis.

George Bolds, spokesman for the Memphis office of the FBI, said they are currently looking into the incident.

The man is not a student at The U of M.

Thanks for the ping and your excellent coverage and research on the biggest danger to all Americans the al Fuqra and their tie in with the al Queerdos.

The al Queerdos without the aid and help of their Jihad in America, the al Fuqra members, are basically no danger to America and Americans in America.

Without al Fuqra's support and aid, the al Queerdos would be nothing but elite super rich Arab goat humping butchers only capable of delivering their brutality to the poor people in the Middle East.

This is why Danny Pearl was kidnapped and butchered. The WSJ was getting ready to run front page articles on the lethal connections between the al Queerdos and the al Fuqra Americans and illegals al Queerdos in America.

This would eventually caused a massive outcry to flush out and jail all al Fuqras, the black muslims who are members of al Fuqra and the al Queerdos over here illegally!

So Danny Pearl was kidnapped and butchered to try and prevent this linkage of the al Queerdos and the al Fuqra, the Jihaders in America!

We are aware of your mental issues, yes.

What you believe indicates serious mental problems. Don't you understand that you believing something does not make it true?

This is a friendly observation to you that you are sliding away from reality.

Not a Micro-biologists?

From the article linked at post #7.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Harvard University biologist whose body was found in the Mississippi River last month died accidentally in a fall from a bridge, a medical examiner said. Don Wiley, 57, fell from the Hernando DeSoto Bridge after a minor motor vehicle accident there, Shelby County Medical Examiner O.C. Smith said Sunday.

........................................................................................

Wiley's disappearance raised concerns about a possible terrorist connection since he had done research on a number of potentially deadly viruses, including Ebola, a highly contagious and lethal fever.

Wiley was an X-Ray crystallographer. The newspapers had no idea what they were talking about.

Just go to PUB Med and search wiley-dc and you'll see his publications.

Or google and put in Don Wiley.

He was a great X-ray crystallographer who had a hand many major structures that were determined. This includes proteins from various viruses, like the flu virus or ebola, but also human proteins like the MHC molecules.

His major interest of research was membrane fusion. The viruses he studied all were involved in instigating membrane fusion.

His death is very sad. He was surely on Nobel prize track.

If they hold him, they cannot follow him and find out where he goes and who he meets with.

I think the FBI should have just participated in the instruction and thereby it would have allowed them to find out more about what the guy had planned. Besides, they could have given him misinformation; couldn't they?
