The National Olympic Committee of South Korea released an official statement about the demarche.
The Koreans are going to boycott the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics that is to take place February 24.
This decision was made because of the fact that the Olympic officials disqualifed the South Korean speedskater Kim Dong-Sung, who had won the 1.5 kilometer race according to all rules. (Russian translation-ed.) The gold medal was re-awarded to an American athlete-yes, of course.
The representatives of South Korea did not hide their emotions. As RTR television channel informed, they said it was 'uncovered plundering and a slap in the face of the national sport.'
The director of the South Korean delegation claimed the Koreans were seriously considering a possibility of withdrawing all of their athletes from the competitions and bidding farewell to America.
And Pravda tosses in a nice burning Olympic flag into the story page, after their citizens were burning our flag last night during the hockey game.
Their skater shouldn't have cheated. He got caught. The don't think that's fair.
Do we ever need to invite the IOC back to the USA for any reason?
A clear cut lie since there was something to disqualify him over. It's just foreign media making up stuff to incite hatred toward the US

Putin only said they would be there for the end of competitions and the Russian parliament voted 417-0 to boycott the closing ceremony.
Yup...these antics have been very very good for ratings. Eventually the Olypics will turn into the World Wrestling Federation. Perhaps be held every two years if they can create enough animosity in that time.
Can you imagine the howls of protest at a new 100,000 seat 'Freedom Stadium' on the Battery constructed for the Olympic Bid..

Nope. The WWF bills itself as "Sports Entertainment". That's more honest than calling the Olympics "ameteur sports" anymore.
