Jolly Rodgers didn't call you a communist. The word "communist" doesn't appear anywhere in his post. Only in yours.
...where is it that you think concrete moral truths come from? Reason alone? LOL...too bad human nature doesn't agree with you.
Concrete moral truths come from reason and observation.
Real Conservatives do not support Social Security or any kind of welfare program. We are trying to convince people that they should be outlawed, which is not an easy job. Would Libertarians support the legalization of drugs before we manage to outlaw welfare programs?
> Observation.
Observation: the Christian religion originated from a single person who convinced twelve other people of the correctness of a set of moral standards. Initially facing extreme amounts of hostility from the Roman Empire and other surrounding nations, Christians soon managed to make Rome tolerate them and, after a couple of centuries, Christianity became the official religion of Rome. Then, Christianity survived the cataclysmic collapse of that empire, and went on to dominate medieval Europe.
The Pilgrim Fathers, who successfully fled the autocracy of medieval Europe to create a system of self-government, were motivated by a strong conviction of the correctness of Jesus's moral standards. A century and a half later, the people of thirteen colonies joined forces to create a republic on the same soil. The people of that republic were enthusiastic adherents of Christian morality; today, that republic is the most powerful nation on Earth.
In the years between 1993 and 2000, inclusive, this nation was presided over by a person who failed to adhere to Christian morality. The republic weakened, and her enemies gained strength.
On September 11, 2001, these enemies staged a devastating surprise attack on the republic. By this time, however, the presidency had been taken over by a good Christian. After the attack, he successfully led the nation in the pursuit of the perpetrators, and the nation regained her strength; the dreaded regime that breeded the terrorists, who had seemed all-powerful on the day of the attack, succumbed to the power of the U.S.A. in a matter of a few months.
You may or may not believe in the evolution of the species, but it is difficult not to believe in the survival of the fittest. The free market of moral standards and ideologies has given a hearty thumbs-up to Christianity ever since its conception.
Real conservatives aren't doing much to end these blatantly unconstitutional programs either.
But you're doing a great job at co-opting the Left's agenda, keep up the good work.

Christian morality does not allow killing innocent people, no matter what their religion is. That's good news for you BTW: we could kill you if we wanted to, but we will not. And remember, the only thing that keeps us from doing so is Christian morality!
Well, if "we" means you and KC, or me and KC, or anybody else and KC, the answer is clearly "yes," inasmuch as a chain is no stronger than its weakest link.
Scroll up to post 183 and read it carefully, or do you need me to post it in bold for you?
If that were true then everyone should be perfect. By reason and observation everyone knows that murder and rape are wrong, Right? They are powerful attributes, but in and of themselves are nothing without an authority backing them up.

Sometimes the need for standards in a community does indeed outweigh the rights of individuals.
Your statement is only true to the collectivist mentality. In a moral society, nothing, absolutely nothing, outweighs the rights of the individual.

Yes I'm a Libertarian because I'm sick and tired of stupid Republicans cowering in fear all the fricking time.
The GOP is supposed to be for limited government, strong national defense, and immigration reform. So far they haven't done squat except race the DemRats on who can grow the gov't faster.
I'm a conservative Libertarian, however...in the Ron Paul sense.....
Another reason why I dislike the Libertarians....like another poster said they should quit spoiling races and become a wing of the GOP, just as there's a RINO wing and a Christian conservative wing.
Did I say they do? Of course they don't. I do not support foolishness. I don't want the govermnent to reward junkies; I want it to jail them. Showing no mercy.
If you are irrational, you are immoral towards yourself, and you may be immoral towards other people. Being immoral makes you eligible for punishment.
Under a Libertarian administration, the welfare state, along with its myriad federal programs and depts, would be completely dismantled, which would discourage illegal aliens from coming here in the first place.
Those that do come here (these would be productive citizens seeking U.S. citizenship) would go through the normal process and wait of becoming a citizen. In other words, under the LP immigration would be what it used to be (and what it should be) back in the early 1900s.
