I think we should also use this method when censoring movies for TV release. "You son of a *moose*!" "Aw, *moose*! He took the *moose* *moose* money!"

They need other words to use. I suggest "Cheese", "Llama", and "Silly". Plug those into your city name generator and see what you get!

The obvious solution to this particular organization is to start up a new division of PETA that stands up for the dignity of mooses. Meese? Anyway, I like the idea of changing their names to Politically Correct Creek, Multicultural Marsh, and Language Police Lake.

We have occasional drives to rename Squaw Peak, which sits right in the middle of Phoenix, but it never amounts to much.
Apparently renaming petitions worked at one point, because it was once known as 'Squaw's Tit Peak.'

Similar legislation in Minnesota took years to enact because local authorities who objected tried to replace Squaw Creek and Squaw Bay with the names Politically Correct Creek and Politically Correct Bay. Now why would they object to that? Are multi-cultist bureaucrats now a protected group too?

I heard on the radio (long time ago, sorry-no link) that in a similar case a county requested the names "Politically Correct Creek" and "Politically Correct Pond", or something like that.
If any FReeper could provide a link we could all have a good laugh.

The United States board on geographic names is threatening to withhold approval of the changes, and has given the county until next month to reconsider its decision. What the heck is a "United States Board on Geographic Names"? Is there NOTHING the federal government doesn't try to regulate?
