Woman guilty of savage attack is to sue her victim 'for scratches'

June Moore: plans to sue

A WOMAN who drunkenly assaulted a French national, leaving her unable to have children, is now considering a counter suit because she suffered scratches during the assault.

June Moore (21) from Killala Gardens, Knocknaheeny, Cork, was yesterday jailed for three years for an horrific assault on Lila Dorgan in September 2000.

The French-Moroccan woman objected to Moore and her friend, Linda O'Driscoll (21), urinating in her apartment complex entranceway.

O'Driscoll, also from Killala Gardens, Knocknaheeny, was jailed with Moore for three years after pleading guilty in Cork Circuit Criminal Court to assault causing harm. The duo - who also screamed racial abuse at the terrified French woman - were also charged with incitement to hatred.

During the savage attack they punched, kicked and slapped the French woman and pulled out lumps of her hair. The victim is still undergoing medical care two years after the attack.

Mrs Dorgan (33) has suffered 50 epileptic seizures since the attack as well as depression, anxiety attacks, joint pain and post-traumatic stress disorder.

But yesterday, June Moore's sister revealed that Elizabeth is considering suing Mrs Dorgan for scratches sustained during the assault. "I'm not saying what happened was right. But June was injured as well. She suffered scratches too," Elizabeth Moore said yesterday.
