Nonesense. Read about the Marines on Okinawa and IwoJima in 1944/45. The US has used every weapon, including dropping the big ones. And it is good that we are willing to do so.

What we are, however, is civilized enough to understand what it means to have to do these things. There is not the resolve, not yet at least. But there will be more stuff, there will be another 911, more of this outrage, and then the resolve and determination will be there.
