It just sounds curious to me. If this happened when he was interviewing the guy he had come to interview, then that meant he was dead from day one.
But if it happened while he was in custody, I mean, they said he hadn't been very well-treated. How could he have been INTERVIEWING someone while he was being tortured and starved?
I find ALL foreign news sources, and most domestic ones, to be highly suspect.

If the confusion is from the supposed "interview," they probably got him to drop his guard by pretending to release him to interview someone and then snuck up behind him just to make the terror on him greater.

I heard he was told he was doing a video for his family when the killer came up behind him and cut his head off.

Me, too. And I am constantly amazed at people on here who read an article and believe it right off!
I suspect the Pakistani president was lying last week when he said they expected news any moment!

The first message I remember hearing was they were going to keep Pearl in the same conditions as their POWs were held in the US (Cuba). If that is the message they want to send then all the POWs in Cuba need to be decapitated immediately!!

My guess is that the interview was done just to prove it was him. The beheading was probably done midsentence in order to leave no doubt as to it authenticity.
