Terrorist's Body Wrapped In Pigskin

"Residents of Gush Katif decided to take matters into their own hands," said local Rabbi Yosef Al-Nekaveh yesterday, "and when we were involved in evacuating the bodies of the three murdered Israelis [at the Kisufim attack this past Monday night], they placed pig fat and pigskin on the body of the dead terrorist."

He said that a "right-wing kibbutznik" had supplied them with the swinish tissues.

Arab MKs responded with outrage. Ahmed Tibi said, ""This is a pig-like act of a man who is not worthy of being a rabbi," while Abdel Malek Dahamshe added, "The ethical inferiority and lowliness that the settlers have reached is intolerable.

This is an act of first-degree desecration of God's name... It is especially shocking to think that a rabbi did this."

On the other side of the spectrum, MK Tzvi Hendel said, "If these primitive murderers stuff their brains with nonsense about Paradise and who-knows-how-many virgins waiting only for them, then they certainly believe in the other nonsense that being buried with pigskin blocks their way to Paradise."

More information, please.

The method stopped terrorism cold in the Phillipines about 50 years ago.

This is a little off topic, but...

Back in the Brittish colonial heyday, there was a revolt started in india over something similar. The brittish troops were angry over serving alongside hindu and muslim indians, so they started a rumor. In those days, rifles were single shot and the ammo that was used had a paper(instead of brass) casing that needed a hole BITTEN in the end of it before being placed in the rifle. Well, some brittish soldiers thought it would be clever to tell all the indian recruits that the paper ammo casings were made waterproof with a mixture of beef and pig fat. The indians became extrememly upset and started a war.

What I would like to know is this: Did these indians continue to bite the paper bullet casings in order to fight this war against beef/pig fat coated bullets?

Most of us southerners save our bacon grease. Perhaps we could contribute it to the anti-terrorist effort? :)

great idea. When I moved to the south 43 years ago they told me to save my bacon grease and I would receive instructions later... Now I know what to do with it. I'll donate it to the war effort..

Arab MKs responded with outrage.

Too bad terrorists acts don't produce the same emotion from these Arabs. Maybe if all terrorists were wrapped in pigskin, they'd do something about stopping these horrendous acts.

" Did these indians continue to bite the paper bullet casings in order to fight this war against beef/pig fat coated bullets?"

My understanding of this is that the new rounds were issued covered in wax and the rumor started amongst the native troops that they were coated in beef/pig fat so as to break caste in the Hindu levies and to violate the ban on pigs for the Moslem levies.

Throughout the Mutiny, the native troops simply continued to use the old uncoated rounds.

I see a new profession. What would we call someone who wraps terrorists in pigskins?

The method stopped terrorism cold in the Phillipines about 50 years ago.

I think it is the restriction on this method that is spreading terrorism nowadays.

It only is when you believe that you can fight back, let's face it.

And it is not in our bourgeois comfortable arm chairs making fun of others' methods that we are going to gear ourselves up courrageously against terror.

Many have no idea what it takes to wage warfare in earnest, because they're cowards and they do not belong.

The Brits did the same thing back in the days of the Empire. Sir Richard Burton told of some incidents that put a stop to terrorist activites in that part of the world. It may have even been done as long ago as the crusades. It's one way of dealing with these nutballs.

Couldn't some of our scientists develop some kind of "pork bomb"? Sort of like an A-bomb, but it spreads pork fat over a surrounding area.

Yup.

Cooper notes seven aspects to successful defense: alertness, decisiveness, aggressiveness, speed, coolness, ruthlessness and surprise. The USA is powerful because on the whole we've achieved six of those points. Our weakness is: ruthlessness. We are not committed to the holistic destruction of individual enemies. We can overwhelm enemy forces in combat, but when we have an individual enemy - wholly devoted to our destruction & seething with rage (not just the typical soldier/grunt) - in our grasp, we put him in Club Fed and snivel about what to do with this poor helpless little terrorist.

So, when asked to bite the bullet, did they? Good one. If this is true, it's a great story, if it's not true, it should be...

Here's another reference to British use of pork vs. Muslims:

(The paragraph quoted is near the bottom of the following linked page) click

Thought for the day, before I finish up. Do you think it's right to use the same techniques used by the British in taking over Palestine (now Isreal), to stop the terrorists? These include things like wrapping corpses in pigskins before burial, feeding prisoners mostly pork products, drenching corpses in alcohol, things like that- things that guarentee the person so treated is going to hell, no matter what they did in life, according to fundamentalist muslims. Is it right to so badly violate a persons religious beliefs, to stop them from killing people? It was quite effective for the British, they encountered very little resistance after doing that for a while.
