Here's what I think will happen. They will follow the law, like good Republicans (sometimes following the law is a good thing, even if unpopular), and throw their hands in the air. They'll say that they can do nothing for the Canucks.
The popular (and I think just) decision would be to give the Canucks a gold medal as well, while allowing the Russians to maintain their medals. Thus, everyone gets to blame the French.
This is what I hope will happen. I don't think it will happen, because Ottavio doesn't want to undermine his corrupt judging system.
