Hey, how they do their ads doesn't bother me, provided they are being on honest. In this one ad, they appear they may not have been.. but if in your face ads work, so be it.

I'm inclined to agree with you - but in many locales it is illegal to tape, let alone broadcast, a telephone conversation without the full knowledge and permission of the other party.

And since this ad was broadcast nationwide, it might verywell be illegal, regardless of whether it violates the MSA or not.

I'm not a smoker and never have been, but I find those "Truth" commercials more than a little annoying -- and preachy.

My take as well. What I see is a bunch of arrogant brats yelling "we're young, we're hip, you're the eeeeeeevil establishment, we're bashing you with your own money and there isn't a thing you can do about it!" Insufferable. If the ad agency thinks this stuff appeals to young people it's because they think themselves that they're young, hip, etc, etc...and they're wrong.

I hate smoking, but these little pri*ks make me want to light up, with their sanctimonious crap.

My sentiments exactly.

US News and World Report called the idea of a so-called "Twinkie Tax" one of the best ideas of the 21st Century.

I always light up for those commercials.

This weekend is extra special. I treated myself to a nice pack of Davidoffs. They are soooooooooo smooth.

US News and World Report called the idea of a so-called "Twinkie Tax" one of the best ideas of the 21st Century.

WyldKard calls US News and World Report one of the most moronic publications of the 21st Century...
