Wow, so what's the point of this "warning"? ...to spread fear across the nation?

What would you expect the FBI to do? Scream "Oh my God!" over the phone when she called them? They may have listened just fine, checked it out via undercover, and it was a false lead. Because the FBI didn't try to make this person a national hero doesn't mean they didn't do their job.

That really doesn't make sense. Being a national hero, and being satisfied that your lead was taken seriously are two different things...let's not ASSUME what happened...you weren't there, nor was I...

So ok, the war against terrorism and our great government didn't get the terrorist this time. But those sharp airline flight attendants and sky marshalls DID manage to snag that guy on the airliner who went to take a pee during the "unallowed" 30 minute time period. And they DID make ALL of the rest of the passengers hold their hands over their heads for the entire rest of the flight. The defense rests :)

If the DOJ believes they have credible info...and they did, I hope to God that they keep us informed, each and every time. What's the matter with you people? We are not children. The Mardis Gras, that wall around New Orleans that holds back the river...was a potential target today.

Go back to your entertainment, we'll stay vigilant for you. Do you know what the people at the DOJ have to read through every day??? Be da*% grateful that you aren't exposed to that daily, real-life encyclopedia of human hate and cruelty.

That's not what this article is about. Sure, by all means they should keep us posted.

The article is about a woman who was not praised by the FBI, but she had no idea if they took her lead or not. She's assuming they ignored her. Has anyone posted the FBI side of the story?

I see no other people chiming in with their own witnessing the same lack of response to the FBI tipline. I thought Freepers were more involved.

I INVITE YOU TO TRY IT! CONVINCE YOURSELF!

After more than 2 months I have not so much as a thank you to my tip.

It doesn't sound like either the woman or the people at this local TV station cared about the FBI's side of the story. A responsible journalist surely would have included that info for their audience.

HERE IS ANOTHER ONE, AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO STOP THEM!!!! Saturday Feb. 23, 2002 Adrian, Michigan Daily Telegram Man on FBI watch list spotted By David Panian Daily Telegram Staff Writer ADRIAN -- A man on the FBI's terrorist watch list due to his suspected ties to the Iraqi Army was under surveillance by local police detectives while he and another man picked up unknown materials from an Adrian chemical plant. A Michigan State Police report said the Adrian post's detective was joined by detectives from the Adrian Police Department and the Lenawee County Sheriff's Department in surveillance of the men, who share a New Hudson address, after a semitrailer he was driving was pulled over Tuesday afternoon. The Adrian post's motor carrier officer pulled over the tractor-trailer for driving 74 mph in a 55 mph zone at 12:40 p.m. on M-52 near Munger Road, the report said. The driver, identified as Ali Mahdi Allamme, 26, had a temporary driver license and an Iraqi passport. The passenger, Ady Mohsen Ali, 26, had a normal, plastic driver license and told the officer he was training the driver. The men were in a vehicle registered to an Oklahoma man and were pulling a trailer registered to a New Jersey container leasing company, the report said. A records check showed a warning from the FBI that Allamme is suspected of being a member of a terrorist organization, the report said. According to the report, the driver told the officer he thought he was going 50 mph. The officer was shown that the trailer was empty, but when he asked where they were going, the passenger said something to the driver in a language other than English. The two then became evasive, the report said. The officer called for the post detective to conduct surveillance of the men. He then wrote Allamme a speeding ticket for going 74 mph in the 55 mph zone and let him go. The detective began his surveillance of the men, following them in an unmarked car, the report said. He was joined by detectives from the Adrian police and Lenawee County Sheriff's Department. They watched as the men went to the Anderson Development Co., in Adrian, and picked up a shipment. They then followed them as they left the county eastbound on U.S. 12 at 4:06 p.m. where they ended their surveillance per instructions from the FBI. Michigan State Police Sgt. Greg Sebring said officers were told by FBI investigators that Allamme was a member of the Iraqi Army during the Gulf War and was one of the thousands of Iraqi soldiers who surrendered to United States and coalition forces.
