Atheist says he acts in good faith

Mitchell Kahle added another scalp to his belt when restrictions on apparel and accessories depicting Satanism were yanked from Kaimuki High School's dress code last week.

The point, he insisted, was that if one religious symbol is banned from a public school dress code, they all must go.

The common symbol for Satanism is the upside down five point star that is a symbol for Wicca.

Wicca is a pagan religion based on the female deity oriented faith around Europe before Christianity came around.

Satanism as far as I am told by practitioners I have met appears to be little more then iconoclasm with Christianity in it's crosshairs. It is much more then a little annoying for Wicca practioners to be taken as Satanists by people who don't differentiate betwen a star oriented to look like a human figure, and one oriented to look like a goat's head.

We had a Satanist who hung around the local coffee shop who loved to criticise and complain about Wicca much more then Christianity. He would say the human animal was meant to live as pleasurable a lifestyle made a hedonistic as possible.

I would always tell him sexuality has responsibilities, and that his church - as far as I saw it - was just around for the sole purpose of creating shock value.

He was an interesting oddball, but that upside down star tattooed on his forehead was a bummer of a mark that might has well be a bull's eye if he ventured into the wrong part of the U.S.

Not counting on that. I have read another piece of great literature cover to cover. It gets real bad towards the end, but then there is a happy ending. The side that chose me wins.

Regarding this wacko Mitchell whatever his name is.... I do not understand how a man who hates God so much can have faith in anything. The word faith it self is believing in somethings that you can not see, or hear, of feel..... so if he is allowed to have faith in anything, then why does he have a problem with others having faith in God. I do not understand such a closed mind. I am not a super religious fanatic. I believe that people can make their own choices, and that they can live as a good person with out going to church, but if you do not believe in God, how can you have faith in anything good? And, just because he does not believe, who's is to say he is right? He has no more proof that God doesn't exist, than I do that he does. This man is just a sad human being who undoubtedly has some reason in his past to make him so hateful and ugly. The reason people chose to “trust in God” is because people like him make it hard to trust in humanity.

One's principles can be drawn from science and the physical universe; they do not need to be drawn from supranatural sources.
