"We want to avoid at all costs the terror of 9-11," Daschle said. "If they're building weapons of mass destruction, we've got to deal with it. But I don't think the case has yet been made."

What does Daschle need an atomic bomb to drop on his head to make the case???

Tommy Daschund apparently hasn't heard the chants of "Death to America" ringing in from Teheran. Apparently Sen. Daschund is politically autistic when it comes to recognizing and dealing with evil.

Bush should do the right thing and ammend his statement, he should add Daschle to that axis of evil list.

Daschle doesn't think the case has been made that Iran, Iraq and N. Korea are building weapons of mass destruction? Where has he been? Doesn't he talk to his colleagues on the Senate Intelligence Committee? You'd be hard pressed to find another person on the planet who DOESN'T think these countries are frantically trying to buy/build these weapons. Daschle just never met a microphone he didn't like and couldn't think of anything else to say and so he said something stupid (again).

Daschle also said "squeek, squeek...I surrender".

It appears that little Tommy has lost his pair. Maybe he can borrow Janet Reno's.

Um, it's okay for us to endure years of being called "The Great Satan", but one retaliatory remark from us means that we're out of line? Someone please explain to Mr. Daschle that we've had enough and we're not going to take it anymore! As I've said before, even the friendliest dog in the world will eventually bite if you keep poking him with a stick long enough! Personally, I'm sick of getting poked!

I have to agree that President Bush was wrong with this comment. The axis of Evil is: Iran, Iraq, North Korea, and Tom Daschle! President Bush just forgot one of the parties involved.

"... the first major criticism from a leading Democrat about the war on terror."

'Tom-tom' being beaten again. An obstructionist is NOT a leader. While everything is backed up behind him, he's like the broken float in a parade, not moving and a momentary center of attention, soon to be swept aside.

"Say goodnight, Tom" "Goodnight, Tom."(With apologies to the Smothers Brothers)

Fine, now the Republicans can run against the Democrats on the Axis of Evil issue. On the one side you have Daschle, France, Iraq, Iran, and North Korea, ... need I say more ?

All I can think is that Daschle's major contributors are threatening to cut off money to him and his affiliated Democratic Senate campaign pacs if he doesn't denounce the Bush 'axis of evil' talk.

It makes no political sense otherwise, as it reinforces the weak on national security image Democrats have had since Vietnam. This is not an image Democrats want to have for their party in 2002. Especially since there will be military operations against the axis of evil in the run up and during that election.

Beady eyed Daschle relly thinks he is president, he has a hold on the contols and Bush is too timid or sold on democraps that he will not take hard action against the beady eyed monster.

"What does Daschle need an atomic bomb to drop on his head to make the case???"

That would be nice.

Behold...a glimpse of what al gore would've done as president to fight terrorism (and I use term 'done' loosely).
