I think the real problem in marriages like this is that neither partner had a real commitment to the marriage. Unfortunately, in this day and age when even the meaning of "is" comes under fire, no one takes solemn vows very seriously. When you vow to God and your mate, in front of family, friends, and the congregation, to remain true, then break those vows, how can that lead to anything worthwhile?

Post 466. These days, marriage doesn't mean much. Degenerates come together for awhile and then leave. Many people see nothing wrong with indiscriminate sex, adultery, and think wrong those who do. They call black white and white black. They have completely darkened minds, and they cannot see. They think that they do right when they do those things which condemn them. They are like the lemmings that charge unknowingly toward the cliff. They are running toward their death.
