I've been wondering if the guy stole her keys at the bar, and got into the house at some point, maybe leaving out the sliding glass door if someone woke up or was coming home through the front door. Just a thought.

Maybe "Uncle Rob" stopped by for a visit, dropped a "Five-Star Frog Splash" on his niece by accident, and took her to a hospital in a different county to receive treatment so the family wouldn't be aware of the incident.
