The military is absolutely correct! This reporter had no business being on the scene! When the police are at a murder scene,everybody is kept away.If pictures of body parts were not permitted at Ground Zero on 9/11,then it surely is not permitted in Afghanistan or any other battleground.IMHO.

I agree with the actions on the military in this case, this is a war zone and these self important reporters do not have free reign.

Of course the Left will claim that 1) this is a violation of freedom of the press; an absurd claim in another country in which we are engaged in a war, and 2) that this "proves" that the Bush administration is trying to cover up some mistake.

You are right! There is NO reason we need to know what happened there. If the military tells us what we need to know, that's good enough for me, and it should be good enough for any True American! No need for reporters to be in over there at all, they should stick to reporting cats in trees in their hometowns.

NBC Nightly News just did a story on this by Jim Micklahoweveryouspellit and it would have been perfect on binLaden TV.Later the words "Global Crossing" came out of Brokaws mouth for the first time,and a full story was done,but it didn't make up for the first report.

Struck said he asked the soldiers' leader what would happen if he ignored their warnings and continued to the missile strike site. That's when the soldier said the reporter would be shot, Struck said.

The soldier didn't threaten him. He was apparently interviewing the soldier and the soldier gave a candid answer. I don't see a problem.

Besides, some guard posts come with the special intructions to 'use deadly force' to prevent unauthorized entry by anyone.

This certainly sounds like an appropriate order at this site.

To believe that a U.S. serviceman would knowingly threaten, especially with deadly force, another American is hard for me to accept
Its hard for me to accept that these "American Reporters" are acting in the U.S. interest. Let's get back to the way it was for WWII, join the armed forces and become certified corrospondants.

I think each and every "reporter" who thinks he is above the fray and semi-godlike should be required to read Ernie Pyle's "Brave Men" to get a sense of how a journalist should behave.

Then they might understand why Pyle won Pulitzers, and was so loved by the soldiers he covered.
