Hispanics families may not want to complain fearing a risk of deportation. But Baize said he has worked with illegal immigrants before, and information on their status is not forwarded to the Immigration and Naturalization Service.

What the landlord should do is rent to the illegal immigrants and then call the INS the next day and say "I know where a couple of illegal immigrants are living. Come and get them!"

They were not refused rent of the property. The landlord, knowing they were probably illegal, also knew all the money they would be getting from the taxpayers to support them, and therefore raised the rent!

I find this difficult to believe. I mean, a mobile home renting for $500/month? In Kentucky?

I am one of the few (perhaps) who think that any property owner has the right to rent, or not, to whomever.
Also, I don't get why law breakers (ie. illegals) have so many rights.

Who pays the rent then? Sure, the first month's rent and security deposit might be paid, but it would still be a pain in the gluteous maximus. Now, if the INS would pay a bounty for turning in illegal aliens.... hmmm.

What makes you think the INS are going to do anything about it?

If it were me I'd tell Mr. Bleeding Heart Bill Dixon and Sista Rosemary that I couldn't be compelled to rent to a rapist, murderer, pedophile, etc. so why doesn't that same rationale apply to another law-breaker who is here illegally. The jails are full of illegals who've committed crimes against Americans so why aren't we allowed to protect our families and property?
