Why San Francisoc, to distract from the Olympics?

The Transamerica Towers was one of the original terrorist targets along with the Sears Tower.

Anyone who messes with my favorite Federal judge in SF will incur my wrath.

The War has started, and I don't mind killing the evil-doers.

a pipe bomb was found in front of the Federal Building

I heard that it was buried real deep and was filled with... No. Wait. That's the sewer.

I said it yesterday, San Francisco has no security.

I don't think they have any air cover, either.

Pipe bomb is too simplistic for the muslim terrorists. I'd go with left-wing extremists at this point.

Too many incidents in the past week: SF airport possible shoe bomber, the buzziing of the GGB, several smaller ones. I think someone is testing security around here because everyone in authority is too afraid of offending anyone who might cause political damage. Thus this area is probably the least secured in the country.

Remember Fairfax, Marin Co., gave the world John W. Lindh; his ilk are mostly elected bay area officials - Berkely, Marin, S.F. The irony is that these will be the people first screaming for tougher laws should anything disatrous happen to us...

From KCBS

Suspicious Package Found at SF Federal Building Source: kcbs Publication date: 2002-02-07 (KCBS) – A suspicious package has been discovered at the Federal Building in San Francisco. Preliminary reports indicated that the building was being evacuated, but KCBS reporter George Harris on the scene said it does not appear that way. Some people leaving the building told Harris they were being turned away, after trying to enter, but he has not found anyone who was asked to leave after entering. The suspicious package was discovered on a loading dock on Larkin. Thousands of people work in the Federal building. The bomb squad is currently investigating the package.

It might just be a trash barrel that turned over. Yesterday in Hartford, a chunk of the city was locked down because a couple of people saw a cameraman shooting a commercial on a rooftop near the Capitol, whom they mistook for a man with a machinegun.

Unless you are at work and have no control over the radio, there is no excuse for listening to KGO. LOL.

I live in San Francisco, and I have joked for a while that San Francisco is the safest place in the country against terror attacks.

Why would bin Laden attack San Francisco, and risk losing whatever support he has left in the country?

I'm certainly hoping SF doesn't get the summer olympics in 2012, or whenever it is supposed to be. It would not be good for SF (or any other city, for that matter, IMO). Security issues aren't worth the maybe revenue.

Suspicious Package in SF Contained Fake Bomb

(KCBS) – A suspicious package found at San Francisco’s Federal Building this morning turned out to contain, not an explosive device, but a device made to look like a bomb. KCBS reporter George Harris on the scene says authorities do not know who perpetrated the hoax. Captain Alex Fagan said the sender did intend for it to look like an explosive device. “The question was, was it made to appear to be a device? It appeared to be a device when you looked at the x-ray, so my assumption is that they knew what they were doing when they sent it," he said. The bomb squad has been investigating the device since 9:30 this morning, when it was first discovered on a loading dock. During the incident, people inside the building sheltered in place, and no one from the outside was allowed to enter. Harris said all packages going into the federal building are screened, and this one came up positive for possible explosives. Thousands of people work in the Federal building. Police do not have suspect in custody, but they are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Francisco police department. (12:15pm, gcb)

Meanwhile, the Feds were out in force today raiding a medical marijuana club in Frisco. Priorities, I guess.
