Thank you for responding. I remember when writing at the time that I would get some responses, but I got none. Ed.D. is a pointless degree and yet they are in charge of education schools.

The problem with education today isn't teachers, it's those who teach teachers. A Ph.D. often spends time justifying his existence and his research choices. For an Ed.D., this is a disaster. They constantly "discover" new and useless "theories" of education -- the more outlandish, the better.

I'm glad I scrolled all the way down before responding. Now all I need to say is

"What you said."

Agree with you wholeheartedly. At the college where my husband works, there's a woman with an Ed.D. who is called director of institutional research. No one knows what she does, but she's able to go all over the place presenting papers on whatever the Sam Hill her research has shown. Once she was taking a survey on a class breakdown of who was eating in the college cafeteria. It's not apparent how that advanced the mission of the college, to-wit, educating young heads full of mush.
