Did the Patriots choose not to have anybody introduced?

Yes. They chose to be introduced as a team. Pretty cool in retrospect. Also note that Belichick didn't touch the trophy in his pre-game photo op.

The two-point conversion is hardly a given. I believe there is less than a 50% success rate. Had the Rams gone for two and not made it, the Pats would have gotten the ball back with a one-point lead with 1:48 left. With no time out left on either side, all they would have needed to do was make one first down and then kneel on the ball for the rest of the game.

Bear in mind that even had the Rams succeeded in a two-point conversion, the Patriots field goal still would have won the game.

And Madden was crazy for telling them to run out the clock. The Pats D-line was dead, and they had very little chance of winning in OT.

Yep. With 1:48 left in the game, why not take a shot at getting in field goal range? I don't understand why Madden was disagreeing with Belichick's decision to let Brady throw the ball. Especially since Brady was playing a safe, conservative game anyhow. He didn't turn the ball over all night. It was plain to see that the Patriots defense was running out of gas and overtime would have favored the Rams.

Madden did regret saying that later.

Wow, over 1200 posts.

It was a great Super Bowl.

This SB was very similiar to SB25, when Parcell's Giants, led by Belichick's superior defensive strategy, out played the high powered offense of the Buffalo Bills.

GO BIG BLUE! and CONGRATS to the Pat's!

The Taxachussetts Patriots suck. Corrupt Ted Kennedy bought the game.

I have been playing the rocky theme since after the game ended.

Ok, so I know this is a woman thing, but I must say that the Patriot's quarterback is so good looking, and I thought the kicker was drop-dead gorgeous! Give me a dark-haired guy anyday. What a good looking team of men. Great eye candy. This game was so exciting, and the half-time show was great, and Sir Paul was wonderful and seems like such a nice down-to-earth guy. Loved the dancing hamster and rabbit. Just a marvelous way to spend a cold, otherwise dreary Sunday up here in Chicagoland. Hope next year I will be in a position to say "Go Bears".

LOL. How ridiculous, even if you wanted to fix the game, please tell me how it could have been accomplished, given how it played out? Some of the most critical calls went against the Patriots late in the games, so it wasn't the refs. Are you accusing Martz just because he employed the prevent defense? I hear he and Favre are close!

Any riots yet in Roxbury or Revere?

Hey, I grew up in Revere! It's been 22 years since I lived there though. No riots that I heard of. Just a lot of partying. It's going to be tough to get to work in the morning. Why can't the Super Bowl be played on a Saturday night?

Nice collection of quotes you have there! *G* If I'd had any money, it would have been on the Patriots! I was rooting for them all the way, and they didn't disappoint. Sometimes an overinflated ego will slow one down considerably; Warner et al just learned that the hard way! I do hope Warner wasn't already hooked on Chunky Soup. It's the only Souper Bowl he'll want to remember this year! HAR!

What was going on with Madden's slam of Bill Parcells? He was making Belichick look very uncomfortable, using him to make the Tuna look bad.

I think Bob Kraft sucks, but at least he didn't get his team by drowning someone.

There has been some wild crowd action, I hear that a crowd flipped a car downtown, but it's been *very* tame so far and I expect it to stay that way. This is Puritan Boston, after all! ;) Man, am I stoked. Between taking the Pats on the money line, and a lucky square at my local, I'm up almost a grand on the day. Plus, I've seen my first ever home team championship (I was in CT in '86). What a weekend, what a day, what a WORLD!!!

I think you're smoking something really bad, if you think the Pats got a raw deal with the refs. That holding call was blatantly obvious, and you know it.

I may have predicted a win by 12 points - but - who cares - a win is a win :)

I've been a Patriots fan all my life and I have watched as fans of other teams have shot their mouths off...

Well I am going to take this opportunity to rub it into the faces of all those who said it coudn't be done...

EAT SH*T all you losers - New England Patriots NUMBER ONE 2002!
