Don't see the problem. First, monitors can pull any threads they want, ban any posters they want. DO IT! Could we live without "Am I logged on?" threads? Yea, and I would spend less time logged on and miss some of the most FUN I have had on FreeRepublic. I come to FreeRepublic first for information. Started with the election, lurked, learned, and appreciated the site as a place to coordinate political "freeps", etc. Now, I come to keep up with developments in the war, world conditions, domestic developments. I appreciate the input from so many "experts" (anyone who knows more than I do) with the links to more info. I can ignore the idiots and idiot threads if the monitors are slow to pull them. Do I want a thread about the 100 best handguns, sure, but I can find it in the archives or a "bang" site. Do I want one about the 100 best basketball teams, or the 100 best Cheeses? Well maybe we could keep the one about Cheeses. Anyway, I guess the final point is that sometimes it is a slow news day (Thank God) so I can either sit here and hit refresh until something important comes along or drop in and see what is the best song from the Platters. I can usually exercise some degree of SELF control, be responsible for myself, ignore ignorance, and not respond. Except this morning.

"Except this morning."

You're weakening. Use the force, Luke.

PS: I like cheese.

First, monitors can pull any threads they want, ban any posters they want.

That is absolutely NOT true. They have a set of guidelines they go by, and they cannot just arbitrarily pull threads. It's NOT personal.

They have enough to do around here; why don't you cut them some slack?

And if you don't like the way Jim Robinson has instructed the moderators to perform their duties, I suggest you go and start your own web site.
