Bush's comment on Andersen
ABC News

Posted on 01/31/2002 10:35:42 AM PST by Puliko

Did anyone hear about Bush poking a joke saying: The good news is Iraq has allowed inspection of its country to continue. The bad news is they demanded Andersen to be the inspectors. (something like that)

I heard it on ABC News radio.

Now, that's what I call a good joke. Talking about giving it to the GAO director.

I heard it as a joke too, but it wasn't Bush who told it. I don't think Bush would say this in public anyway.

"...President Bush didn’t help Andersen’s image, cracking a joke over the weekend that Saddam Hussein has agreed to weapons inspections. “The bad news is he wants Arthur Andersen to do it,” Bush said..."

Thanks for the confirmation of the report. Strange how it's not being shown all over the news, with the mainstream media "outraged" at his insensitivity toward the "poor Enron victims."

Found this too:

"THE PRESIDENT of the U.S. is a very popular guy and he simply slayed the VIPs at the Alfalfa Dinner the other night, hosted by the famous Washington, D.C., club. These worthies included the cream of U.S. commerce, industry, politics and anyone else you can think of who counts.

The prez said he had good news and bad news from Saddam Hussein . "The good news is he is willing to let us inspect his biological and chemical warfare installations. The bad news is that he insists Arthur Andersen do the inspection!"
