I've got base clearances for the local San Diego bases, and it's keyed to by Social Security number. The Navy security folks did a background check before I ever got those clearances. What I'd like to know is how an illegal passes a background check like this. If they can get in to a Navy base, an airport is a cinch.

Ditto...I work for a contractor here in San Diego. I could not even step foot inside the base w/o a clearance,
for which I had to fill out an extremely lengthy form and then wait several months to obtain the clearance.

How about, the right hand doesn't really know what the left hand is doing. A lot of things went seriously lax under X42. My guess is that the ones directly responsible for the "checks" do cursory ones for the sake of appearances but never actually follow through because they know these people couldn't pass. I'm afraid our president has a blind spot in this area and it seems that both political parties have a vested interest in continuing to allow it and to push for this amnesty crap.
