Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?
And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.
And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.
Thanks,
Jim

I hope this hasn't been mentioned on the other thread, but what about all these threads bashing Lincoln and supporting the CSA? That seems to me a class of vanity we could easily do without.
Geez Walt.....why must you insist on beating this dead horse at every opportunity. You are only inviting further exactly what the moderators are asking us to quell. If you hate provincial Southern threads as much as you clearly do, why don't you just stay off of them?.or better yet as I've begged of you...start your own congragulatory Union threads.

"And every time I see complete, utter nonsense about the legality of secession or the racism of Abraham Lincoln
and the rest of the long list of crap spouted on FR by neo-confederate crazies, I will refute them with the historical record."
The rewriting of history to bolster the PC position is not crap.
And I have seen plenty of "historical record" that backs up both positions on this subject.
Rooting out the truth is a significant part of what FR is all about.
BTW, I happen to be born a Yankee. The same with most of my family.
I also had relatives on both sides of the conflict.
I find this an interesting and relevent subject, but I'm hardly a "neo-confederate crazie"
-in spite of the fact that I question the "official" version. (And I've seen plenty of reason to do just that.)

RE: support of Republicans.
Are we to believe that you are now in favor of 'Sideshow Bob' Terwilliger as Mayor of Springfield???
I certainly hope not! (taking mock umbrage)
To: Admin Moderator
Not to mention not posting the lastest bogus "virus alert" from hoax emails.

Your the man Jim. I couldn't agree more, although I've probably broke some of those rules myself. Thanks for the forum.

Never heard of the guy. But from your tone, my guess is he must be a moderate Republican? And further guessing you'd rather have the liberal Democrat?
To: headsonpikes
Not a dimes worth of differnce Jim (saving you the trouble).

And I have seen plenty of "historical record" that backs up both positions on this subject.Good grief.
Well, I am not going to go into a long disertation with you over that on this thread. It will all pop up again on the next "CSA pure as the driven snow" thread.

Bookmarked.
Question: When a duplicate post is pointed out to the person making the thread, sometimes people are grateful, and sometimes they are not. I have had it pointed out to me when I make a duplicate post, and also there have been times that after making a thread, I was able to find an identical, earlier post.
My question is, would you rather it not be mentioned to a person if the thread already exists? Does it annoy you guys when it is pointed out as much as it annoys the person making the duplicate post?
I think all registered users of FR could stand to read this post by Jim Robinson, but I doubt all will follow it, sadly. More work and waste for FR.

"...moderate Republican?"
Actually, this was a reference to the "Simpsons".
I don't think Sideshow Bob would qualify as a Republican of any description...well, a RINO, I suppose, by default! lol
To: headsonpikes
Oh, hah! Well, I never watch the Simpsons so did not know what you wee talking about. Sorry about that.

To all you libertarian bashers and Libertarian bashers -- notice the mention of Harry's name??

What about the "Caption This Photo" threads? They provide a lot of humor. Are they discouraged?
