[concerned about politics]

It's been a looong time since my Ancient Greek course, but if I remember correctly they didn't use a word similar to "people" when referring to a group of men and women. They almost always used the masculine plural. In a way, it's similar to the way we use "mankind".

"Man is the head of woman, like God is the head of man."
By changing the holy word, they are changing this. God said what he MEANT to say, and who are we to change his thinking for him???? Are the thought police so much wiser?

This cannot be re-written to favor the pagans. It's unholy and blasphemous to change it.
