Thank you for saying this. As you no doubt know, newbies are often personally attacked when they enter into debate, and I am still occasionally shot down for being a "newbie" after being here several months now. Maybe in their book I will always be a "newbie".
I am sometimes reluctant to comment in threads that interest me because of the presence of some of these grouches. I choose to avoid defending the validity of my statements based on the date I logged into FR.
Trashing all newcomers who dare to jump into debate would certainly be the behavior of a dying forum. Fortunately I have found many friends here also, but only because I was willing to take a couple of punches first. I shouldn't have had to.

I agree. I have also refrained from joining some discussions because of some who are already participating. The name calling, and “flames” take away from the enjoyment I get from this site, and do little to educate.
Anyway, that is my opinion.
