My wife and I moved out here to North Jersey about 5 and a half years ago from 30 to 60 miles east of Los Angeles and it only took my wife a couple of weeks to decide that New Jersey driver's motto is "Because I can!"
I'm kind of glad that the main circle in my area (Ledgewood Circle) has been turned into a Tee intersection complete with traffic lights and (practically unheard of in New Jersey, hence the reference to jug handles) even a left turn lane. That thing was a real mess.
I remember being intimidated by large trucks coming the other way at New Jersey stop lights. When the light turned green, they would immediately turn left in front of me. Who is going to argue with a big truck?
Driving in rural Jersey also involved coming up to intersections that had no identifying road signs to tell you where you were or which way to go.
